The North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber was used in every theater of WWII and was named in honor of General Billy Mitchell, a pioneer of U.S. military aviation. By the end of its production, nearly 10,000 B-25 in numerous models had been built and as of today, approximately 35 are still flying. The Arizona Commemorative Air Force® Museum is the proud restorer and caretaker of a B-25J Mitchell bomber called, “Maid in the Shade,” and offers rides to the public.
